MGM Resorts is currently seeking a charismatic and engaging Model Bartender to join their talented team. This role is far more than traditional bartending; it is about crafting memorable moments that enhance the guest experience throughout the resort. The Model Bartender will expertly prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining an inviting, organized, and hygienic bar space. Beyond mixing drinks, this position requires excellent interpersonal skills to set the tone for the guest's visit, enrich the ambiance, and be an ambassador of the MGM brand.
The role includes responsibilities such as managing bar inventory, adhering to cash handling procedures, mentoring apprentice bartenders, and ensuring all equipment and tools are functioning and clean. Additionally, Model Bartenders at MGM Resorts have the chance to participate in modeling, promotional activities, and presentations, enhancing the overall entertainment value provided by the resort. Compensation for this position starts at $9.50 per hour plus tips, with the potential to earn up to $13,800 in annual tips. Job Requirements
- Has a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Has 1+ years of prior relevant experience in food and beverage, cocktail service, nightclub, or entertainment venue
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Capable of standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Has a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Has 1+ years of prior relevant experience in food and beverage, cocktail service, nightclub, or entertainment venue
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service orientation
- Knowledge of beverage recipes and standards
- Ability to mentor and train others
Job Duties
- Make and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, proportioning ingredients according to standardized recipes and provide food service as needed
- Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available
- Maintain bar inventory according to set pars and internal controls and request product to maintain stock in bar
- Ring beverages that are poured or served, collect payment, and follow all cash handling and variance procedures including preparing daily reports and submitting appropriate paperwork
- Provide apprentice bartender and bar porter with training and mentoring on overall function of the bar, guest service, and bartending
- Clean equipment, tools, and supplies and ensure equipment is in good working order including cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the bar
- Participate in modeling, presentations and promotions programs throughout the casino and resort if applicable
- Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority, otherwise, refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft
