The available position is for a Bartender at the 7939 Essen Park Drury Hotel location in Baton Rouge. This role operates under general supervision and is charged with opening and closing the hotel Kitchen+Bar in line with company policies and procedures. The bartender is instrumental in upholding the Drury culture by maintaining high standards of integrity, service, and hospitality. This is essential not only in guest interactions but also in teamwork and collaboration within the hotel.

Responsibilities of the bartender include the upkeep of food preparation and bar areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times. The bartender serves and assists guests with their beverage needs, displaying expert knowledge of mixing and serving a wide variety of drinks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Completion of two years of college preferred
  • Ability to open and close bar and obtain supplies
  • Ability to distinguish currency denominations and make change
  • Ability to operate cash register, POS software, dishwashers, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to diplomatically handle difficult guests and situations
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of bartending experience required
  • Two or more years of bartender and supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to take written and verbal direction in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to mix and serve drinks efficiently
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications required by the company
  • Ability to use office machines and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally

Job Duties

  • Open and close the hotel kitchen and bar following company policies and procedures
