The role available at this location is a Bartender position within the hotel's Kitchen+Bar area. Under general supervision, the bartender will be responsible for opening and closing the bar and kitchen areas in compliance with company policies and standards. This position demands maintaining a clean and organized food prep and bar environment while delivering exceptional hospitality to guests. The bartender will not only serve drinks but will also assist guests, answer questions about the hotel and the local area, and reinforce the Drury culture through positive interactions. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years old or older
- One experience bartending required
- Two or more years of bartender experience preferred
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of two years of college preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain all appropriate certifications per Company requirements
- Ability to take written and verbal direction in English and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to mix and serve a wide variety of drinks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle money, make change and utilize office machines
- Ability to operate machines and equipment including cash register, POS software, dishwashers, kitchen equipment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to open and close bar and maintain supplies
- Ability to distinguish currency denominations and make change
Job Qualifications
- Must be 21 years old or older
- One year of bartending experience required, two or more years preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required, two years of college preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain all appropriate certifications per company requirements
- Ability to take written and verbal directions and communicate effectively in English
- Excellent customer service skills with ability to manage difficult situations diplomatically
- Ability to distinguish different denominations of currency and make appropriate change
- Ability to operate machines and equipment such as cash registers, POS, dishwashers, and kitchen equipment
Job Duties
- Open and close the hotel Kitchen+Bar following company policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and well-organized food prep and bar area
- Mix and serve a wide variety of drinks in a fast-paced environment
- Assist and serve guests with high standards of integrity, service, and hospitality
- Answer guest questions about the hotel, local area, and events
- Perform duties of bartender, prep cook, cocktail server, and other related positions as needed
- Handle money accurately, make change, and operate office equipment and POS software
