The position of Kitchen/Bar Assistant at Galloway's Cocktail Bar represents a key opportunity within Columbia Hospitality's dynamic team. Galloway's Cocktail Bar is an intimate, upscale venue located within the Fairhaven Village Inn lobby. It offers guests a sophisticated setting that features a carefully curated selection of fine wines, microbrews, and craft cocktails paired with delectable bites and locally made desserts. This role is a full-time position with an hourly pay rate between $20.00 and $20.50 plus tips, and includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, disability coverage, and a 401K plan. As a Kitchen/Bar Assistant, the individual will play a critical role in supporting the culinary and bar operations to ensure the highest quality food presentation and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include preparing daily food items according to specification sheets, assisting with new menu items under supervisory guidance, maintaining attractive and consistent presentation of buffet and plated items, and interacting directly with front-of-house staff to uphold quality standards. The role requires handling customer requests promptly, managing inventory and ordering under supervisor direction, ensuring sanitation and safety compliance, and performing opening and closing kitchen procedures efficiently. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in knife skills, recipe interpretation, and adjusting food preparation to meet flavor and dietary preferences. Essential licenses include the Washington state Mast Alcohol Server Permit and a Food Handler's License.   • Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
  • Must possess knife skills
  • Ability to adjust preparations for flavor
  • Ability to accommodate customer's needs in a timely manner

Job Duties

  • Utilizes specification sheets to prepare daily preparation requirements
  • maintains par levels of necessary items
  • Prepares new menu items under direction of supervisor
  • Ensures attractive, consistent presentations of food items, both buffet and plated
  • Interacts with front of house to maintain quality, presentation and consistency of food items prepared
  • Handles all needs and accommodates customer requests in a timely manner
  • Sets up, re-stocks, maintains, and cleans food preparation areas
  • Responsible for ensuring presentation standards are met for all hot and cold items
  • Reads and interprets recipes
  • Conducts product inventories, ordering and receiving of product under direction of supervisor
  • Responsible for team maintenance of grooming standards
  • Responsible for team adherence to standards for sanitation and safe food handling
  • Responsible for all opening and closing kitchen procedures
