The school serves a diverse community where students are encouraged to excel not only academically but also personally. St. Therese is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education that prepares students for future success while promoting respect, responsibility, and social awareness within a caring community.
For the 2026/2027 school year, St. Therese is seeking a part-time kitchen worker to join their team. The position offers weekday hours from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work in a supportive school environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the cafeteria runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of the students and staff.
The kitchen worker will be responsible for a variety of tasks centered on food preparation, production, and maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria. They will be instrumental in adhering to established dietary requirements related to food quality, quantity, nutrition, appearance, temperature, and service timeliness. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, values hygiene standards, and is passionate about nutrition and food service management.
Specifically, the kitchen worker will assist in preparing daily meals delivered to the school, supporting cooks and other cafeteria staff through various duties such as cafeteria setup, cleaning, dishwashing, and cashiering when required. They will play a key role in serving food to students and staff and operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, warmers, and dishwashers, ensuring all are maintained and cleaned according to safety standards. Monitoring daily food deliveries and placing orders for supplies such as milk are important responsibilities to maintain efficient cafeteria operations.
This position requires adherence to strict food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of all who use the cafeteria. Additionally, the kitchen worker will assist in menu planning and management in coordination with a catering company, maintain accurate records of lunches served via the student information system, and ensure the kitchen and cafe area are cleaned thoroughly after each lunch period.
A willingness to obtain a Food Manager's license from the Clay County Health Department is mandatory, underscoring the school’s commitment to compliance with local health regulations and food safety best practices.
This part-time role offers a unique chance to contribute to a community-focused institution while developing valuable skills in food service, team collaboration, and health compliance.
