The role of Kitchen Utility at Menu Maker Catering is vital for the smooth operation of the culinary team and overall kitchen functionality. This position focuses on supporting chefs and kitchen staff with essential tasks such as washing dishes, assisting with basic food preparation, organizing kitchen supplies, and helping maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. The Kitchen Utility also plays an important role in managing inventory by receiving food and supply deliveries, rotating stock, and restocking storage areas. Another key responsibility is ensuring the safe and timely transport of catering orders to clients and events, which requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
This is an entry-level, hourly position that offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen and catering environment. The Kitchen Utility must be self-motivated and able to multitask effectively while adhering to stringent health and safety regulations. Physical stamina is important for this job due to frequent standing and the ability to lift and carry heavy items over 40 pounds. Flexibility with scheduling, including working some weekends and early mornings, is essential to accommodate the varied needs of catering events.
