The Kitchen Team Leader role at The Habit is a pivotal position within the Back of the House operations. This role demands a strong leader who exemplifies exceptional knowledge of food safety, personal safety, and operational standards in the kitchen. As a Kitchen Team Leader, you will be responsible for performing and overseeing duties across all kitchen stations, such as Fryer, Broiler, Make-up, Quarterback, and Lead Cook. This job requires someone who can lead by example, effectively coach and train Back of House staff, manage food and labor costs, and ensure that health and safety standards are strictly adhered to. Job Requirements
- 2 years of experience in related food service position preferred
- Food Manager Certificate and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Basic math skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong leadership qualities
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
Job Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in related food service position preferred

Job Duties
- Set the standard and leads by example in all kitchen functions and responsibilities
- Provide direction and coaching to back of house team members
- Perform all stations in the kitchen including preparation and cooking of all food items
- Ensure standard operational procedures are followed for consistent delivery of quality food items
- Maintain detailed knowledge of cleaning, maintenance, and operation of all kitchen equipment
- Comply with all established standards including personal safety, food safety, sanitation, hygiene, appearance, and uniform
- Set and maintain ordering pars weekly to ensure quality and availability of food products
- Assist in training and developing back of house staff
- Ensure kitchen organization, cleanliness, efficiency, and operations during opening shifts
- Assist with opening and closing of the restaurant by following checklists
- Write and follow weekly planner
- Participate in weekly management meetings to share observations and thoughts regarding goals with management
- Optimize profits by controlling food and labor costs
