Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. As a company deeply rooted in family values and community involvement, Panda Restaurant Group remains committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to its guests. The group operates under a philosophy that fosters a supportive and inclusive work environment that inspires its employees to improve their lives while making a positive impact on the communities they serve.
The role of Kitchen Team Associate is vital to maintaining the high standards of quality and service that guests expect from Panda. This position is designed for friendly, enthusiastic team players who enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment. While prior experience is a plus, Panda is dedicated to providing comprehensive training to new employees, meaning that even those without prior food service or kitchen experience can quickly learn the skills needed to succeed and thrive in this role. Kitchen Team Associates play an essential part in creating a welcoming atmosphere by delivering exceptional dining experiences, which include greeting guests, serving food, and managing payments at the cash register.
In addition to guest interaction, Kitchen Team Associates are responsible for upholding cleanliness and safety standards throughout the restaurant, which is critical for food quality and customer satisfaction. Those who join the team can anticipate working across multiple areas, including the kitchen, front counter, and drive-through, offering a variety of experiences and opportunities to develop versatile skills. Working efficiently and harmoniously with fellow team members in this positive and supportive environment is highly encouraged, helping to meet daily operational goals and create a fun workplace culture.
Beyond the day-to-day duties, Panda Restaurant Group values its employees’ growth and development. Kitchen Team Associates are given the chance to obtain certifications such as Food Handler certificates (depending on local requirements) and receive hands-on paid training that equips them for career advancement. The company emphasizes opportunities for ongoing career and leadership development, with clear paths toward management positions for those who demonstrate commitment and skill. Additionally, Panda supports employee well-being by offering competitive pay, flexible schedules, and various comprehensive benefits to eligible full-time associates.
Moreover, Panda encourages its employees to be active in giving back to the community through the Panda Cares initiative, a program dedicated to making a difference locally. This spirit of community service is an integral part of the corporate culture, resonating with the values of inclusivity, kindness, and teamwork.
Overall, working as a Kitchen Team Associate at Panda Restaurant Group means joining a well-established and rapidly growing company that values its people, offers a safe and enjoyable work environment, and provides ample opportunities for personal and professional growth. This role is perfect for individuals looking for a rewarding career in the food service industry with a company that not only prioritizes quality food and guest experiences but also cares about its employees and the larger community.
