Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in Glendale, California in 1983, stands as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda prides itself on its mission of delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences. At the heart of this mission is a deep commitment to building an inspiring organization where people are motivated to improve their lives. The company’s values are firmly rooted in a family-oriented culture, emphasizing teamwork, respect, and community involvement. A significant part of Panda's identity comes from its dedication to giving back through initiatives like Panda Cares, which opens opportunities for team members to make a positive impact in their communities while working with the company.

Joining Panda means becoming part of a vibrant and supportive work environment where team members not only collaborate but also build lasting friendships. Panda Restaurant Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer, fostering workplace diversity and inclusivity. They comply with federal, state, and local laws to provide reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process, ensuring an accessible and fair opportunity for all applicants. They maintain a respectful environment free of discrimination based on gender, race, religion, disability, and other protected characteristics.

The role of Kitchen Team Associate is an entry-level position perfect for individuals eager to start or grow their careers in the foodservice industry. This position involves cooking delectable food items while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. The job offers a fast-paced environment where team members may rotate through different roles such as front counter service, drive-through operations, and kitchen food preparation, providing a diversified experience. This flexibility promotes skill development and career progression within the company. Even those without prior experience are encouraged to apply as Panda provides hands-on, paid training designed to prepare associates for success.

In this role, associates will have the opportunity to work efficiently alongside friendly and helpful team members, contributing to a fun and positive workplace atmosphere. The company also offers flexible schedules that accommodate various lifestyle needs, empowering employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Compensation ranges from $20 to $23 per hour, determined by location and experience, which is competitive for the industry and reflective of Panda’s dedication to fair pay. Associates also enjoy benefits such as free meals during shifts, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees, vacation days, sick leave, and opportunities for career development and leadership training.

Working at Panda means embracing physical and mental challenges inherent to kitchen work. Associates must be prepared to stand for extended periods, handle hot food items and equipment, and operate in a fast-paced, noisy kitchen environment. The ability to communicate effectively and adapt to changing priorities is essential. Panda values associates who can manage conflicts professionally and contribute as reliable team players.

Overall, the Kitchen Team Associate position at Panda Restaurant Group provides not just a job but a career path filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and community involvement.
