Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, founded in Glendale, California, in 1983. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, the company is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences by cultivating an organization that inspires its people to improve their lives. Panda emphasizes family values and a supportive work culture that extends beyond its team members to positively impact the communities where they operate. Known for its high standards of food quality and service, Panda offers employees a chance to be part of a dynamic and friendly environment where teamwork and growth are valued. The company is deeply committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and accessibility, ensuring an inclusive workplace for all individuals regardless of sex, gender identity, race, religion, age, or disability. They also provide reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process and employment to support candidates and employees with disabilities.
The role of a Kitchen Team Associate at Panda Restaurant Group focuses on cooking delicious food while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. This position involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, handling different tasks including front counter service, drive-through operations, and kitchen duties. Team members are expected to provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests, serving food, and managing payments, thereby directly contributing to the guest's exceptional dining experience. In addition to food preparation, associates ensure the store remains clean and organized while following operational standards and safety procedures. Panda fosters a supportive and safe work atmosphere where team members become friends, and newcomers are provided hands-on paid training to develop their skills. No prior experience is necessary as full training is offered, making this a great opportunity for individuals starting their career in the food service industry. Employees are also encouraged to participate in the Panda Cares initiative, which helps them give back to their communities.
This role requires stamina and adaptability due to the physical demands of working in a kitchen, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and maintaining focus in a noisy, high-energy setting. Candidates must be able to learn quickly, multitask, and effectively communicate with team members to meet daily operational goals in a positive environment. Flexible schedules and opportunities for career advancement into management positions make this job attractive for motivated individuals seeking long-term growth. Full-time associates also benefit from comprehensive health, dental, vision, and disability insurance, retirement savings plans with company match, paid time off, and various employee discounts. Overall, working as a Kitchen Team Associate at Panda is an opportunity to grow professionally, learn new skills, and be part of a vibrant, friendly, and inclusive company that values its employees and their contributions.
