Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a leading family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept founded in Glendale, California, in 1983. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda continues its mission of delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to its guests. Known for upholding strong family values and fostering a supportive company culture, Panda Restaurant Group inspires its employees to grow and improve their lives both personally and professionally. The company is proud to have built a friendly and encouraging environment where team members support each other and become friends. It is also committed to making a positive impact on the communities it serves through its Panda Cares initiative.
The role of a Kitchen Team Associate at Panda is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to the creation of delicious, high-quality food. This position is ideal for friendly team players who take pride in providing excellent customer service while maintaining the highest cleanliness standards in the kitchen and dining areas. Candidates do not necessarily need previous experience as Panda offers thorough hands-on training to prepare new team members for success. Whether working at the front counter, drive-thru, or kitchen stations, employees are encouraged to collaborate with their teammates to meet daily goals in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
Kitchen Team Associates have the chance to gain valuable skills that can lead to career advancement within the company or beyond. The role involves greeting guests, serving food, handling payments, and ensuring a memorable dining experience through attentive service and efficient work habits. Compliance with operational standards and safety procedures is crucial to serving fresh, quality food consistently. This role demands adaptability, effective verbal communication, and the ability to handle high energy and sometimes stressful situations with professionalism.
Panda Restaurant Group places strong emphasis on providing a safe and inclusive workplace that accommodates individuals with disabilities as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The job may require standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, working in hot kitchen environments with steam and food vapors, and managing restricted workspace while maintaining speed and accuracy. Despite these physical demands, Panda remains dedicated to supporting every associate’s growth through ongoing career and leadership development programs, opportunities for management track progression, and a comprehensive benefits package tailored to full-time employees.
By joining Panda as a Kitchen Team Associate, candidates become part of an organization deeply rooted in family values and committed to equal employment opportunities. The company celebrates diversity and does not discriminate based on gender, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, age, or veteran status. Panda also actively supports flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and access to medical, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees. Additional benefits include 401K with company match, paid vacation and sick leave, associate discounts, referral bonuses, and the chance to engage in meaningful community service projects.
