Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., established in 1983 in Glendale, California, has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in the United States. With close to 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda is known for its commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a workplace that inspires its team members to improve their lives. The company is deeply rooted in family values and community engagement, which is reflected in its corporate culture and community initiatives like Panda Cares. Panda Restaurant Group embraces diversity and inclusion by being an Equal Opportunity Employer that prohibits discrimination on any legally protected basis and provides reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities to ensure equal opportunity in employment and advancement.

The role of a Kitchen Team Associate at Panda Restaurant Group represents a crucial part of the dining experience provided to guests. As a Kitchen Team Associate, you will have the opportunity to become part of a friendly and supportive team where collaboration, learning, and career development are prioritized. This position is perfect for those who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to engage in hands-on training to develop valuable skills in food preparation, customer service, and kitchen operations. You don’t necessarily need prior experience because Panda offers the necessary training to help you succeed and move forward in your career. The work environment fosters camaraderie among team members, encouraging a positive and enjoyable workplace.

The job responsibilities cover a variety of areas including greeting guests, serving food, handling payments, maintaining cleanliness, and preparing high-quality food while adhering to safety and operational standards. Flexibility is key since associates may rotate among different roles such as working at the front counter, drive-through, or kitchen stations. This dynamic role enhances versatility and team cohesion. Moreover, associates have access to benefits that promote work-life balance and ongoing professional growth, including flexible schedules, competitive pay ($22 to $25 per hour based on location and experience), and comprehensive medical and retirement benefits provided to full-time employees.

Panda Restaurant Group values its employees’ health and well-being, ensuring a safe workspace despite the physical demands of the job, such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, preparation of hot and cold foods, and managing high noise levels in the kitchen. Strong communication and adaptability are essential to thrive in the fast-paced kitchen environment where priorities may shift rapidly. This role not only offers the chance to grow within the company but also encourages associates to contribute positively to their communities through various outreach programs.

Overall, the Kitchen Team Associate position at Panda Restaurant Group is ideal for motivated individuals looking to join a reputable company with a family-oriented culture, competitive employment terms, and meaningful career development opportunities in the food service industry.
