Job Description
Courtyard Loma Linda is a distinguished hotel property that operates as a part of the well-known Courtyard by Marriott brand, recognized globally for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. This hotel combines comfort, convenience, and contemporary amenities to cater to business travelers and tourists alike. Located in the vibrant Loma Linda area, the hotel prides itself on exceptional guest service, offering a welcoming atmosphere and a commitment to quality in every aspect of its operations, including dining. The Courtyard Bistro, the hotel's signature dining outlet, embodies this same commitment to excellence by providing guests with delicious and thoughtfully prepared meals in a casual setting.
The role of Kitchen Supervisor at Courtyard Loma Linda's Courtyard Bistro is integral to maintaining high culinary standards and ensuring a seamless dining experience. This position requires a professional who can bring precision, pride, and consistency to every meal prepared and served. The Kitchen Supervisor oversees daily bistro operations, ensuring that all food items adhere to brand recipes and presentation standards. This role also requires diligent supervision of kitchen and front-of-house (FOH) food safety guidelines to uphold the highest hygiene and quality benchmarks. The Supervisor is a key player in the hotel's mission to Soar to Success by guaranteeing that every meal meets or exceeds guest expectations for quality and consistency.
A Kitchen Supervisor in this setting balances the management of food preparation with operational support activities, including assisting with menu preparation, ingredient storage, inventory rotation, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment at all times. Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations such as HACCP and health department standards is a critical element of the role. The Supervisor also manages the scheduling and oversight of bistro staff, including servers and bartenders, and supports procurement by assisting with ordering and proper storing of deliveries. This position demands strong leadership, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment that can involve exposure to heat and noise.
Ideal candidates will possess previous culinary supervisory experience, with familiarity or experience specifically within Courtyard Bistro operations considered an advantage. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends and holidays, and a steadfast commitment to safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment, are essential qualities. This opportunity is perfect for culinary professionals eager to contribute their skills in a vibrant hospitality setting, directly influencing guest satisfaction through exceptional food service standards.
