Since the year 2000, Delaware North has managed concessions, premium dining, and retail services at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. This 18,500-seat arena is home to the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets and hosts concerts and various high-profile events. Delaware North’s operations here encompass a variety of concession outlets including diner-themed stands, which feature traditional arena fare such as hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, and a wide selection of beers, including offerings from local Ohio breweries. Delaware North is currently hiring a full-time Kitchen Supervisor to join their Sportsbook team at Nationwide Arena. This role is an exciting opportunity for experienced cooks seeking career advancement in a collaborative and high-energy setting. The Kitchen Supervisor plays a central role in maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency within the kitchen. Responsibilities include creating weekly menus from established or personal recipes, overseeing food preparation to meet quality and sanitation standards, and supervising the proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment. The supervisor also manages team members' cleaning and food production duties, ensures proper rotation and storage of food items, and actively controls food costs in alignment with culinary leadership’s guidelines. Attention to detail and effective communication skills are essential in this leadership role, which requires the ability to manage opening, closing, and side work tasks with precision.

Ideal candidates for this Kitchen Supervisor position will bring at least two years’ experience as a line cook, lead line cook, or kitchen supervisor. The role demands a detail-oriented mindset, solid basic math skills to manage recipe measurements accurately, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Physical requirements include the ability to carry up to 50 pounds, sustain standing, walking and bending for the duration of shifts, and perform manual tasks such as chopping, mixing, blending, or whipping food items. Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years experience as a line cook, lead line cook, or kitchen supervisor
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a leadership role
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as carrying up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending for the duration of shifts, and manual dexterity to chop, mix, blend, and whip foods
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends
  • Willingness to maintain sanitation and safety standards
  • Attention to detail and basic math skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years experience as a line cook, lead line cook, or kitchen supervisor
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others in a leadership capacity
  • Attentive and detailed oriented with basic math skills to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
  • No college degree required

Job Duties

  • Create weekly dining room menus from personal or established recipes
  • Supervise food prep maintaining quality, presentation, and sanitation standards, while verifying portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures are maintained
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is working efficiently, supervise team members with cleaning and food production in their areas, and maintain cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers, as well as supervise proper breakdown, rotation, labeling, dating, and storage of food
  • Actively maintain food cost within parameters set by culinary leadership
  • Perform opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines
