Job Description
The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a commendable no-fee program dedicated to helping men and women in their journey toward complete rehabilitation. TSA is a well-established charitable organization known worldwide for its commitment to social services, disaster relief, and community support. The ARC program is one of its many impactful initiatives, focusing on providing the necessary tools, support, and environment to empower individuals who are overcoming life challenges, including addiction and homelessness. The center provides comprehensive services which equip beneficiaries with life skills, job training, and essential rehabilitation therapies free of charge. This dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable populations showcases TSA's enduring commitment to service and community betterment.
At the ARC, the Rehabilitation Program Team plays a vital role in ensuring that the center operates smoothly and that its residents receive top-notch care and support. The teamwork and devotion of ARC employees are central to fulfilling TSA's mission to "Do The Most Good" in every community they serve. They work diligently to maintain an environment conducive to rehabilitation that fosters growth, responsibility, and self-sufficiency among the program's beneficiaries.
The role offered is for a Kitchen Supervisor within the ARC program team, providing a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the program's success by managing all kitchen operations. This hourly position is offered at a competitive rate of $24.00 per hour, reflecting the value TSA places on this crucial role. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for scheduling and overseeing kitchen workloads to ensure timely meal preparation, serving, and clean-up. Beyond routine duties, this role requires training and supervising kitchen personnel, including beneficiaries, on proper cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen sanitation standards—all of which are essential to maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
Additional responsibilities include managing kitchen equipment and scheduling repairs, conducting bi-weekly inventory checks to maintain stock freshness, and ordering food within budgetary and nutritional guidelines. The Kitchen Supervisor also manages vendor relations, including working with local suppliers and the Food Bank, and handles petty cash dedicated to food purchases, following strict accounting procedures.
Moreover, this position requires active collaboration with the Center Administrator for menu planning and special event coordination, alongside hands-on assistance with cooking and service when necessary. The role demands attention to personnel management policies, maintaining discipline, safety measures, and confidentiality, which are critical for the program's orderly and secure operation. Working at the TSA ARC is not merely a job; it is a calling that demands dedication, compassion, and professionalism to help those on the path to recovery. Join the ARC team and make a lasting impact on individuals' lives while enjoying benefits such as career growth opportunities, paid time off, employee discounts, referral bonuses, medical, dental, vision coverage, retirement plans, AFLAC, and access to the Employee Assistance Program.
