The privately held company is focused on expanding its footprint beyond San Francisco into other Californian cities and additional states. Presently, Apni Mandi operates four comprehensive stores in the southern Bay area, with plans to open two to four more locations in 2025. The Kitchen Supervisor - Indian Food Chef role at Apni Mandi is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in restaurant management and Indian culinary expertise. The primary responsibility is to oversee all kitchen operations, including Indian, Indo-Chinese cuisine, snacks, bakery products, sweets, and Panwaari, alongside managing checkout processes, ingredient ordering, and receiving. The role demands leadership in providing exceptional customer service, maximizing sales through quality offerings, minimizing wastage, and maintaining high employee engagement. The Kitchen Supervisor will also create and manage sales and expense budgets, design menus considering budget and seasonality, hire and train staff, set performance goals, and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Work authorization to work in the US
- Experience in Indian food cooking
- Culinary experience
- Ability to obtain California Food Handler Card within 30 days
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Leadership and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Resident, citizen, or work authorization in the US required
- Experience with Indian food cooking is a must
- Extensive previous culinary experience
- Certification from culinary school preferred
- California Food Handler Card preferred or to be obtained within 30 days of joining
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, restaurant management software, and POS software
- Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes
- Knowledge of Indian cuisine preferred
- Excellent management and leadership skills
