We are currently seeking a dedicated Kitchen Supervisor who will play a pivotal role in overseeing all kitchen employees while ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. This full-time position involves training and developing new employees, assisting kitchen staff as needed, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. The Kitchen Supervisor will report directly to the Kitchen Manager and Restaurant Manager, ensuring constant communication and alignment with management goals.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. They will be responsible for making sure food preparation meets specifications, updating spec books, and ensuring all opening and closing kitchen duties are properly executed. Additionally, this role requires monitoring inventory levels, ensuring proper stocking of walk-ins and storage areas, and enforcing sanitation regulations to maintain a safe and compliant kitchen environment.
Beyond managerial duties, the Kitchen Supervisor will also participate in food preparation tasks and be capable of running the kitchen from the expo line during peak hours. Acting as the expo during the busiest times, the supervisor will play a key role in coordinating kitchen activities and communicating any operational needs or equipment issues to management promptly.
Strong communication skills are essential for this position, as the Kitchen Supervisor must professionally interact with coworkers and managers and be receptive to feedback and training. Interpersonal skills are also critical since the role involves adapting to diverse coworker personalities and fostering a team-oriented atmosphere. Physical endurance is necessary, as the role entails standing for extended periods and performing various physically demanding tasks under different environmental conditions.
Problem-solving skills, conflict management, and quality control are also vital components of the job. The Kitchen Supervisor must identify and resolve issues efficiently while continuously seeking ways to improve business methods, product quality, and overall service. Flexibility to occasionally work overtime and support other team members is expected, along with strong analytical and organizational skills to effectively manage workloads and prioritize tasks.
Candidates must be proficient in English for verbal and written communication and possess basic mathematical skills along with knowledge of point-of-sale systems.
