The role of Kitchen Supervisor at One Off Hospitality is a critical position that supports the Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine in managing the back-of-house (BOH) operations. This non-exempt role requires a hands-on leader who can coach, delegate, and guide kitchen staff to maintain high standards across all culinary and operational processes. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with health codes and internal procedures, maintaining food quality and consistency, and promoting team cohesion and morale. This position demands a proactive approach to both food preparation and safety, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the kitchen.

As the assistant to senior kitchen leadership, the Kitchen Supervisor plays a vital role in teaching and mentoring line cooks and other BOH staff, ensuring they master proper techniques and uphold the company's values. They are also tasked with managing inventory controls, minimizing waste, and adhering to food safety regulations including proper sanitation procedures and personal protective equipment use. Flexibility and strong communication skills are essential, as the Kitchen Supervisor must handle high-pressure situations calmly and coordinate effectively across departments to drive overall restaurant success. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED graduate
  • minimum 5 years of overall BOH experience
  • food handler certification required
  • ability to handle stress under pressure
  • willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
  • ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
  • ability to work independently, with minimal supervision

  • maintains strong lines of communication with entire leadership team and staff to drive the success of the restaurant
  • helps with duties of other employees when necessary because of an unexpected absence or extra volume
