Job Description

NYCANNA, LLC, doing business as THE BOTANIST, is a subsidiary of Canopy USA, LLC, a leading vertically integrated, multi-state operator in the United States cannabis industry. With the transition of Acreage Holdings to Canopy USA, LLC in December 2024, the company is strategically positioned to consolidate operations across its three main business units: Wana, Jetty, and Acreage. This consolidation aims to realize synergies and cost savings while supporting growth in state-legal markets across the U.S. The company covers key market segments, including flower through Superflux, vape and concentrates through Jetty, edibles and beverages through Wana, and retail via The Botanist. This diverse portfolio allows Canopy USA, LLC to accelerate growth with a strong emphasis on the Midwestern and Northeastern U.S. markets. As a newly formed entity, Canopy USA, LLC is building a stronger, more agile organization that unlocks greater opportunities within the expanding cannabis market in the United States.

The Botanist, a brand under NYCANNA, LLC, embodies innovation and passion for the cannabis industry while fostering a people-first culture. The company values its employees and emphasizes continuous learning, development, and growth opportunities. The team at THE BOTANIST is committed to excellence and encourages motivated individuals who share the company’s vision to join and grow together.

The Kitchen Supervisor role at THE BOTANIST is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of edible cannabis product production. This position involves managing the daily operations of the kitchen to ensure consistent, safe, and quality production outputs. The Kitchen Supervisor leads a team, ensuring compliance with all relevant state and company regulations, maintaining the highest levels of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen environment. The role demands a collaborative work style and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, holidays, pet insurance, and other paid leaves.

The Kitchen Supervisor will be instrumental in driving innovation and continuous improvement within the kitchen, managing product specifications, recipes, formulas, and food safety plans. This leadership position is responsible for training and developing kitchen staff to produce high-quality edible cannabis products, executing quality assurance and control testing to ensure consistency, quality, and efficacy. The role also involves inventory auditing to guarantee compliance and overseeing kitchen cleaning and maintenance schedules to ensure smooth production operations without disruption. This exempt position primarily operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm ET, with flexibility required for extended hours or weekends as business needs dictate.

Candidates for this role should have a strong background in food production or commercial kitchen management, ideally with experience in cannabis or infusion production. A high school diploma is required, with a preference for candidates holding a degree in Food Science. The ability to use Microsoft Office applications and inventory systems proficiently is also essential. The Kitchen Supervisor’s role is physically demanding, requiring extended periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional carrying of weights up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to work in specialized manufacturing environments.

Overall, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading cannabis company’s success while growing professionally in an innovative and supportive environment. THE BOTANIST’s commitment to quality, compliance, and employee development makes it an ideal employer for individuals passionate about the cannabis food production industry.
