Job Description
Aramark is a global leader in food services, facilities management, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of guests every day across 15 countries. With a commitment rooted in service and united by a shared purpose, Aramark strives to make a positive impact on its employees, partners, communities, and the planet. The company fosters an inclusive workplace where every employee enjoys equal opportunity and can participate fully without discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. Aramark believes that a career here should not only develop professional talents but also fuel passions and promote personal and professional growth, emphasizing a culture that supports challenges, belonging, and a great working environment.
The Kitchen Supervisor position at Aramark, specifically within the Homestead Correctional Institution, plays a vital role in ensuring food preparation adheres strictly to production plans and Aramark standards. This role requires supervising inmates involved in food preparation and tray assembly, guaranteeing efficient and timely meal service while maintaining strict sanitation and safety protocols. The Kitchen Supervisor must train workers and inmates in proper cooking methods, production procedures, recipe adherence, and food handling standards including HACCP policies. Managing work schedules, sanitation tasks, and food inventory are essential components of the role, as well as securing kitchen equipment and storage areas in compliance with correctional facility security regulations.
This position demands strong leadership, the ability to motivate inmates and employees alike, thorough knowledge of food safety regulations, and the capacity to enforce these standards consistently. The Kitchen Supervisor also participates actively in meal preparation and serving when required, reinforcing a hands-on approach to supervision. Accurate population counts, overseeing portion control especially for special dietary needs, and maintaining stringent sanitation and safety practices are integral duties. The role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Employees in this position must wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as necessary and maintain a security clearance suitable for the correctional environment.
Aramark values employees who are adaptable, eager to develop new skills, and ready to take on changing job duties to meet both company and client needs. The organization encourages growth, responsibility, and accountability within its teams to provide outstanding food service operations in a correctional institution setting. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to contribute to a reputable company committed to excellence in food service, worker training, operational efficiency, and community impact within the challenging yet rewarding environment of a correctional facility.
