Marriott’s Houston location at 1777 Walker St is seeking a Full-Time Food and Beverage team member to join their dynamic team. This non-management role focuses on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen and storage areas. The position is crucial to ensuring a seamless and hygienic operation that supports the culinary team and enhances the overall guest experience.

This role requires operating and maintaining a variety of cleaning equipment, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, and trash compactors. The successful candidate will wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, utensils, knives, and other equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Responsibilities also include receiving deliveries, proper storage and rotation of perishables, and ensuring that all cleaned wares are stored appropriately. Maintaining cleanliness extends to trash management, recycling efforts, and mop and floor maintenance. The associate will follow all company safety and security policies, promptly reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to supervisors.

The role requires physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. It also involves prolonged periods of standing, sitting, or walking, along with various movements like bending, twisting, and stooping. Communication skills are important to foster positive relationships with team members and support a collaborative work environment. Job Duties

  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including dish washing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor
  • wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
  • receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock
  • use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes
  • inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items and send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing
  • rack and spray all racked items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue
  • sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware
  • breakdown dirty bus tubs
  • empty and maintain trashcans and dumpster area
  • clean and mop all areas in assigned departments
  • dispose of glass in proper containers
  • break down cardboard boxes and place recyclables in the recycle bin
  • follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
  • report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
  • complete safety training and certifications
  • protect company assets
  • communicate clearly and professionally with others
  • develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members
  • support team to reach common goals
  • ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 pounds
