Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- At least one year of experience in food preparation or a related role preferred
- Supervisory experience is preferred but not required
- Experience working with inmates is a plus
- Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- Maintain eligibility and security clearance within correctional facilities
- Food safety certification

Job Duties
- Ensure that food preparation and production align with Aramark standards
- Check and endorse production and temperature data
- Oversee inmates during food preparation and tray assembly
- Deliver meals in a timely and effective manner according to Aramark standards
- Participate in meal preparation and serving duties
- Share and distribute culinary guidelines ensuring accurate portions and accommodating dietary needs
- Store all food items safely and in an organized manner to prevent hazards
- Follow security procedures and ensure storage areas are always locked
- Confirm that all kitchen tools, equipment, and keys are returned to secure locations
- Create and maintain work and sanitation schedules for cooks, inmates, and cafeteria staff
- Supervise and evaluate employees to promote teamwork, efficiency, and professional development
- Assist with inventory management and proper storage of food and related items
- Coordinate requisition orders and maintain accurate inventory control
- Maintain logs for kitchen equipment and perform preventive maintenance as needed
- Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure safe handling and storage of food
- Maintain accurate food safety and temperature logs and take corrective actions when necessary
- Participate in planning, storage, and combination of meals according to the 5 P’s methodology
