Job Description

Aramark is a global leader in food and facilities services, operating in 15 countries to serve millions of guests daily. With a deeply embedded spirit of service and a unified purpose, Aramark strives to create meaningful progress for its employees, partners, communities, and the planet. Their mission is grounded in providing equal opportunities, promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace, and fueling individual passion and professional growth. The company emphasizes comprehensive training programs, leadership development, and career advancement to help employees thrive within their roles and beyond.

This opportunity is for a Kitchen Staff Supervisor at the Marion Correctional Institution, a role that demands leadership, operational coordination, and a strong focus on food safety and security. The Kitchen Staff Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inmates who prepare and assemble meals, ensuring every food item meets Aramark's production standards. The position involves training workers, assigning tasks, and coordinating all kitchen activities to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining strict adherence to sanitation and safety protocols. This role also includes managing inventory control, equipment maintenance, and compliance with HACCP guidelines for food handling and safety.

The Kitchen Staff Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining security within the kitchen environment, ensuring that storage areas remain locked and all kitchen tools and keys are accounted for. The supervisor creates and enforces work and sanitation schedules for both inmates and kitchen staff, encourages teamwork, evaluates performance, and supports professional development. Physical demands such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing are part of the job, along with the requirement to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment.

This position offers a unique blend of supervisory duties and hands-on involvement in meal preparation and service within a correctional setting. It requires the ability to work independently with discretion and respect for the sensitive environment. Candidates should have at least one year of food preparation experience, preferably with supervisory experience and knowledge of food safety certification. Familiarity with working in correctional facilities is advantageous. Aramark provides a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, retirement savings plans, and various work-life resources.

Aramark's commitment to its employees is evident through its focus on continuous development and a supportive work culture. The company encourages employees to grow their careers, uphold high safety standards, and deliver quality service with integrity. This role as Kitchen Staff Supervisor not only offers a chance to lead in a structured and secure environment but also to contribute to a team-oriented culture centered on service excellence, safety, and operational success.
