Job Description
Our company is a vibrant and community-focused food establishment dedicated to delivering exceptional food and coffee experiences to our customers. Situated within a dynamic and energetic environment, we emphasize creating a welcoming atmosphere where our customers can enjoy consistently high-quality products paired with friendly, intentional, and knowledgeable service. As an establishment, we pride ourselves on our commitment to sustainability, actively practicing recycling, reusing, and minimizing waste to support our local community and the environment. We believe that our staff are an essential part of this mission, and we foster a culture built on mutual respect, clear communication, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. All team members are valued for the unique experiences they bring, and they are supported throughout their journey with ongoing development and training opportunities.
We are currently seeking dedicated Kitchen Staff to join our team and contribute to the smooth operation of our kitchen. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, this role requires individuals who are quick, diligent, and adaptable, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Kitchen Staff are responsible for various routine kitchen tasks, including setting up workstations, managing inventory requests through digital tools like Google Sheets, and ensuring that products are stored and delivered properly. Coordination with delivery drivers, vendors, and bakery staff is essential, as well as maintaining thorough food preparation standards according to recipes and health and safety regulations. Our kitchen staff play an integral role in achieving the overall mission of the company by supporting front-of-house operations and ensuring all necessary products are available throughout the day.
This is a full-time or part-time position requiring flexible scheduling, including weekend availability, with hours ranging from 24 to 40 per week depending on employment status. The ideal candidates will be proactive in adhering to company policies such as punctuality, clock-ins and outs, shift changes, and requesting time off with appropriate notice. Engagement during training sessions and receptiveness to constructive feedback are fundamental for success in this role. Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation at high standards is critical, encompassing all areas such as walk-in refrigerators, dishwashers, floors, and equipment. Food preparation duties include product labeling, organizing, and ensuring high-quality creation and presentation in compliance with health and safety standards.
Strong communication skills are necessary for reporting any issues or concerns and coordinating effectively with other stores using Slack. We seek team members who contribute positively to the work environment, embrace the company’s values, and demonstrate an upbeat and professional attitude. Physical demands of this position include moving around the kitchen quickly, handling products weighing over 50 pounds, and routinely using various kitchen tools and appliances safely. Our compensation package includes a competitive rate of $20.25 per hour, plus a meal benefit of $22 during work hours, along with health, dental, and vision insurance offerings after 90 days, a 401(k) matching program after one year and 1,000 hours worked, and paid time off accrual after one year of employment. Our team members also enjoy a 20% discount on retail items during off-work hours.
