Job Description

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is a leading food service management company operating across eight states in the Midwest region of the United States. The company specializes in providing high-quality, nutritious meals in various settings such as educational institutions, corporate cafeterias, and catering events. With a steadfast commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, Opaa! Food Management strives to serve delicious meals that meet the dietary guidelines and preferences of the communities they serve. Their approach involves strict adherence to standardized recipes and compliance with food safety regulations, ensuring that every meal prepared is both safe and enjoyable for customers.

As part of its dedication to excellence in food service, Opaa! Food Management is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Kitchen Staff to support their daily kitchen operations. This is a full-time position focusing on the preparation of breakfast and lunch offerings alongside assisting with serving lines. The kitchen staff will actively participate in every aspect of kitchen duties including food preparation, cooking, serving, and cleaning, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery. This role also occasionally involves catering functions, requiring flexibility and the ability to handle varied tasks with professionalism.

The ideal candidate will be proactive in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and service areas, demonstrate food safety awareness by following HACCP procedures, and ensure compliance with federal nutrition programs such as the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFKA) and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Responsibilities include setting up serving lines, preparing menu items per Opaa! recipes, managing inventory using FIFO principles, and operating kitchen equipment safely with the necessary certifications. Attention to detail is critical to maintain the quality, presentation, and portions of food served while providing excellent hospitality to customers.

Furthermore, candidates must embody Opaa!'s core values, which emphasize acting in the best interest of students, schools, and communities, honesty, passion for service, and commitment to continuous improvement. The role also demands physical stamina, as it requires standing, walking, and lifting as needed, often in environments exposed to heat, humidity, and noise. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborative teamwork and completing administrative tasks such as cash handling, meal reconciliation, and accurate record keeping.

Opaa! Food Management offers competitive pay rates that vary by state and position; specific compensation details will be discussed during the hiring process. This job provides the opportunity to develop culinary skills, work in a fast-paced environment, and contribute positively to community nutrition and wellbeing. Those interested in working with a reputable and supportive company that values employee growth and diversity are encouraged to apply. Opaa!
