Job Description

The role of the HOH Supervisor at DRG is a vital position, serving as a working team lead for the HOH staff within the restaurant. Unlike salaried management roles, the HOH Supervisor does not carry full management responsibilities; however, they play an essential part in leading by example and supporting the team to perform at their best. The HOH Supervisor is an experienced BOH team member who acts as a resource and guide to colleagues. This position demands a strong adherence to DRG’s policies, protocols, and procedures, along with a commitment to upholding high standards of integrity and leadership.

In this capacity, the HOH Supervisor supports performance-oriented training and helps ensure that all cleaning and food handling procedures are meticulously followed to maintain a safe and sanitary workplace. They are expected to uphold food quality by adhering to standard recipes, using proper portion control, and ensuring all items meet presentation and preparation standards. Additionally, the HOH Supervisor assists management in achieving operational budgets and objectives, playing a key role in maximizing profitability by managing food costs and labor productivity effectively.

Beyond operational tasks, the HOH Supervisor is responsible for monitoring team members, completing shift checklists, and enforcing company policies and local health regulations. They are the first point of contact for reporting any misconduct or violations, thereby reinforcing a culture of accountability. The role requires thorough knowledge of company policies, food safety, and quality standards, as well as strong leadership qualities to inspire team members to follow DRG’s core pillars. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a back of house role within the restaurant industry
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow company policies and local health regulations

Job Duties

  • assists with performance-oriented training
  • assists management with organizing, training, and ensuring that all cleaning and food handling procedures are correct, resulting in a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment
  • upholds all drg policies and local health and safety codes
  • adheres to our standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation to minimize food costs
  • exercises portion control for all items served
  • assists management in achieving targeted budgets, goals, and objectives
  • demonstrates solid knowledge of policies and procedures
  • demonstrates thorough recipe knowledge and awareness of food and beverage quality/safety
  • responsible for reporting any misconduct or violations of company policy to gm, do, and human resources
  • responsible for completing all shift checklists
  • ensures the profitability of restaurant operations by operating within food costs and labor productivity guidelines
  • oversees team members to ensure that all food items are prepared to recipe standards and are prepared at the proper temperature
  • evaluates products to ensure that quality is up to drg standard
  • monitors boh areas to verify that all closing and opening procedures are carried out according to drg’s protocols and procedures
  • displays ownership of drg’s values
