We are currently seeking a dedicated and energetic Kitchen Shift Manager to join our team. This role is central to maintaining the quality and efficiency of our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish to effectively communicate with our diverse team and ensure smooth running during peak hours. This position can be either full-time or part-time, offering flexible scheduling with shifts generally lasting between 8 to 10 hours, including nights and weekends. Compensation starts from $22.00 per hour.

As a Kitchen Shift Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the back-of-house team, which includes taqueros, prep cooks, and grill staff. You will uphold our high standards for food preparation and presentation, ensuring every dish meets the authentic flavor profile that our customers expect. Additionally, you will manage inventory during your shifts to monitor supplies and reduce waste, contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of our operations.

Your leadership role will require you to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment that complies with HACCP standards. You will set the tone for your shift by leading through example, stepping in to support the team during busy periods. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential, as you will be managing staff and addressing any issues that arise promptly and effectively.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in high-volume kitchens, Mexican cuisine preferred
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Valid California Food Handler or Manager certificate
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Open availability including nights and weekends
  • Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts
  • In-person work in Chula Vista, California

Job Qualifications

  • Valid California Food Handler or Manager certificate
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Supervise the kitchen team during peak hours
