The Kitchen Department plays a crucial role within T&T Supermarket by preparing and presenting ready-to-eat food items that appeal to a wide customer base looking for convenience without compromising quality. This role focuses on preparing Kitchen products such as BBQ, hot foods, dim sum, sushi, and other delicacies ahead of time for customer selection. The position requires the individual to perform various tasks including frying, cutting, packing, weighing, labeling, and displaying these foods at sales locations to ensure a timely and appealing presentation.
Reporting directly to the Kitchen Department Head, this role demands a proactive and detail-oriented team member who can maintain product freshness and quality while ensuring an attractive and sufficient product display. Customer interaction is a key aspect, involving greeting customers warmly, assisting them in their selections, fulfilling special requests, and providing recommendations as needed. Moreover, the role involves adhering to food safety protocols, handling inventory management including receiving deliveries and managing product expiration, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen workspace.
Candidates for this position must be adaptable to work flexible shifts that include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and safely handle kitchen tools is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively in English, with knowledge of Cantonese or Mandarin being an asset. Prior experience or knowledge related to kitchen deli products, presentations, and packaging methods will be advantageous.

Job Requirements
- Flexible to work in shifts including weekdays, weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
- able to stand for long periods and use work-related tools safely
- able to communicate in English with Cantonese or Mandarin as an asset
- knowledge of basic work safety
- relevant experience and knowledge of kitchen deli product preparation, display, promotion and packaging techniques preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in kitchen or food preparation preferred
- knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- skills in customer service and teamwork
- basic understanding of inventory management
- ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
Job Duties
- Greet customers with friendly and enthusiastic customer service
- assist customers in selecting kitchen products and provide recommendations
- ensure product quality, food safety, freshness and practice FIFO strictly
- prepare, label and display various kitchen food products
- maintain workplace cleanliness and keep work tools clean and well-kept
- keep product displays full, attractive and replenish inventory timely
- verify and process expired kitchen deli products and manage shrinkage
- receive product deliveries and take customer orders
- complete daily sales and other checklists accurately
- perform other duties as assigned by the superior
