The role of the Kitchen Production Manager at Good Foods Co-op is a full-time position dedicated to overseeing the operations of the Deli, Kitchen, and Café departments. The manager plays a crucial leadership role in ensuring the smooth and efficient production of high-quality prepared meals and café offerings. This position demands an individual who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment and is passionate about food production, safety standards, and exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include managing kitchen and café team members, coordinating production schedules, monitoring food quality and costs, and maintaining compliance with food safety regulations.

The successful candidate will also be actively involved in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture. Beyond daily operational management, the Kitchen Production Manager supports merchandising efforts such as signage and product displays, and contributes to menu development and inventory management. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least five years experience in prepared foods, restaurant, café, or kitchen settings
  • minimum two years supervisory or management experience
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • flexible availability including weekends
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • commitment to cooperative values and sustainable food practices

Job Qualifications

  • Five years of prepared foods, restaurant, café, or kitchen experience
  • two years supervisor or personnel management experience
  • strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • strong customer service focus and positive leadership style
  • knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
  • reliable, detail-oriented, and solution-focused

Job Duties

  • Managing and supporting kitchen, café, and dishwasher staff
