The Da Vien Back of House (BOH) Kitchen Position is essential in maintaining the high standards that our customers expect from our coffee and tea products. This role focuses on crafting, preparing, and maintaining the quality and consistency of our coffee, tea, and foams, contributing directly to the delightful experience that defines our brand. Members of the kitchen team dedicate their time to ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. The BOH Kitchen staff are crucial in upholding Da Vien's operational policies and delivering products that meet strict quality control measures. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong dedication to food safety and hygiene.
Key responsibilities include routine beverage preparation, accurate recipe execution with precise weights and measurements, and compliance with health and safety guidelines. The BOH team member must conduct regular inspections of food products to ensure freshness and proper storage. Cleanliness is paramount, necessitating consistent cleaning of workstations, kitchen spaces, and equipment. Additionally, the role involves reporting any equipment malfunctions promptly and collaborating with the broader BOH team to support kitchen operations and workflows. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain composure and patience during busy or unexpected situations, demonstrating a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and proactively.
This is a part-time or full-time in-person position offering flexible schedules, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, with occasional overtime possible upon approval. Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience working in a kitchen, restaurant, or coffee shop environment and possess at least a high school diploma or GED. Although not mandatory, a Food Handling Manager Card is preferred. Physical stamina is required to handle the fast-paced, often physically demanding nature of the job, including standing for long hours, moving quickly between tasks, and lifting up to 45 pounds. Job Duties
- Execute routine beverage preparation following established operational policies and procedures, including prepping and brewing coffee and tea
- Ability to follow recipes accurately with weights and measurements and produce good quality products
- Pay attention to detail regarding food/service quality and cleanliness
- Required to read accurate tickets to accurately prepare all products
- Follow compliance with health and safety guidelines in the kitchen
- Conduct regular inspections of food products to ensure freshness, proper storage, and adherence to quality standards
- Maintains composure and patience during busy or unexpected situations
- Ensures that workstations are clean at all times
- Regularly deep clean kitchen space and equipment
- Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the manager
- Collaborate with other members of the BOH team to support overall kitchen operations and workflow
- Perform other duties as assigned related to BOH operations
