Job Description

Bob Evans Restaurants, LLC is a well-established restaurant chain proudly recognized as America’s Farm Fresh dining experience. Founded on the principles set forth by Bob Evans himself, the company has a rich heritage of serving high-quality farm fresh food accompanied by an inviting and family-friendly atmosphere. With a deep commitment to community roots and a culture of care, Bob Evans is dedicated to delivering not just meals, but memorable experiences to every guest. Their emphasis on outstanding service, attention to detail, and consistent quality has made them a respected name in the foodservice industry. Employees at Bob Evans play a vital role in sustaining this tradition, ensuring that both guests and team members feel valued as part of a larger family.

The Kitchen Preparation role at Bob Evans is essential for maintaining the culinary standards and operational efficiencies that support the brand's promise of farm fresh food and excellent customer service. This position involves following precise recipes and preparation instructions to create delicious, high-quality menu items. Key responsibilities include adhering to proper food handling and sanitation protocols to maintain a safe and clean working environment. Kitchen Preparation associates ensure that workstations, including tables, shelves, ovens, and refrigeration units, remain sanitary and orderly. They are responsible for unpacking and organizing incoming goods promptly, supporting a smooth kitchen workflow.

In addition to food prep and sanitation, this role requires strict compliance with portion control standards and kitchen policies. Associates must wear gloves to prevent bare hand contact with food and follow all safety guidelines when operating kitchen equipment. The ability to report issues related to food quality or equipment to management promptly is critical for maintaining product consistency and safety. Furthermore, Kitchen Preparation team members often collaborate closely with managers and other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of prepared items for service. This role may occasionally require assistance with other kitchen duties, reflecting a flexible and team-oriented work environment.

Working in this position demands physical endurance, including standing and walking for prolonged periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions like reaching, bending, and handling tools. The job requires good sensory capabilities such as tasting, smelling, and communicating clearly with colleagues. Given the fast-paced nature of the restaurant environment, employees must be detail-oriented, able to multitask effectively, and keep pace without sacrificing quality or safety.

Bob Evans offers competitive compensation rates ranging from $14 to $18 per hour, depending on geographic location and market demand. Employees enjoy benefits such as health and welfare programs, a 401(k) with employer match, flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance, and opportunities for career growth and development. The company prioritizes employee well-being by maintaining safe, clean, and supportive working conditions aligned with CDC and local health guidelines. This is an appealing opportunity for individuals seeking to grow their careers within a company that values tradition, quality, and community spirit. At Bob Evans, you’re not just preparing food — you’re contributing to a shared legacy where good grows every day.
