The role of Kitchen Preparation team member at Bob Evans is crucial to maintaining the quality and consistency the brand is known for. The individual in this role is responsible for keeping the workstation clean and organized, including all kitchen equipment and surfaces. The kitchen preparer follows detailed portion sizes and quality standards while managing inventory such as unpacking and organizing received goods promptly. They also collaborate closely with management by utilizing tools like prep lists and hot box charts to support timely delivery of menu items during service. Safety procedures must be strictly observed during equipment use. The role may involve assisting in various kitchen duties as assigned, making flexibility and teamwork essential. This position suits individuals with 0-2 years of related experience who have strong knowledge of restaurant operations, excellent multitasking abilities, and a reliable, detail-oriented work ethic. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of related experience in a restaurant setting
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity
  • Strong menu knowledge
  • Ability to accurately read, organize, and coordinate tickets
  • Dependability and exceptional teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Follow recipe and storyboards to prepare foods according to proper preparation methods
  • Ensure proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, oven, and refrigeration equipment
  • Maintain high standards of personal grooming, wash hands frequently, and wear gloves to prevent bare hand contact
  • Unpack and organize received goods in a timely manner
  • Prepare menu items using plating recipes when ordered
  • Promptly report equipment and food quality problems to management
  • Utilize tools including the prep list and hot box chart in conjunction with the manager to ensure timely delivery of products needed for service
  • Follow all safety procedures when using equipment
  • Assist in other job categories as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
