The Kitchen Prep role at Fogo de Chao plays a vital part in maintaining the quality and presentation of the restaurant’s offerings. This position is responsible for supporting the kitchen team by preparing and presenting salad bar items, side dishes, and desserts with attention to detail and adherence to recipes. The role requires efficient work habits and a commitment to maintaining the highest inventory standards. Proper management of inventory, including the freshness and storage of produce, is critical to ensure that guests receive top-quality food.

Kitchen Prep team members also assist management by tracking expiration dates on products to minimize waste and maintain safety standards. Maintaining cleanliness in all kitchen areas and equipment is a crucial responsibility, as it ensures compliance with health regulations and contributes to the overall smooth operation of the kitchen. Additionally, this role includes performing specific opening or closing shift duties as assigned by management.

Candidates for this role must have the physical ability to handle tasks such as transporting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working at a fast pace. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required, reflecting the demands of the hospitality industry. Compensation for this role starts at $17.81 per hour and can go up to $21.81, depending on relevant work experience.

Job Duties

  • Provides support through preparation and proper presentation of all salad bar items, side dishes and desserts according to recipe in an efficient manner

  • Proper management of inventory levels including the storage area
  • Assists management with tracking of expiration dates on all products
  • Maintains cleanliness of all kitchen equipment and areas
  • Completes any beginning or closing shift duties as directed by management
