Job Description
Someburros is a beloved family-owned and operated Mexican restaurant chain in Arizona, known for serving authentic Sonoran-style Mexican cuisine. Established in 1986, Someburros has built its reputation on time-tested recipes passed down from the founding Vasquez family, whose journey into the culinary world began with Poncho's restaurant in 1972. This dedication to quality and tradition is reflected in every dish served, featuring handmade tortillas, slow-cooked meats, fresh salsas, and signature hospitality that makes every guest feel at home. With a focus on community values, authenticity, and a family-like atmosphere, Someburros has become a staple in the Arizona dining scene, expanding its reach while maintaining close ties to its roots.
Joining the Someburros team means becoming part of a vibrant family where not just the food but the culture is rich with warmth and support. The company prides itself on fostering a positive, inclusive workplace where every team member is valued and encouraged to grow. Whether you are a seasoned kitchen professional or just starting your culinary journey, Someburros offers a welcoming environment where passion for food and service drives the experience.
The current opportunity is for full-time or part-time Family Members in kitchen roles including line cooks and prep cooks. These roles are essential to maintaining the fast-paced, high-quality operation that Someburros is known for. Team members will undergo a comprehensive two-week training program designed to equip them with the skills needed to perform a range of tasks that keep the kitchen and dining experience efficient and enjoyable. Starting pay is competitive, beginning at $15.15 per hour plus pooled tips averaging an additional $2 to $3 per hour, reflecting the importance Someburros places on rewarding hard work.
Employees benefit from perks such as discounted meals and catering for themselves and their families, as well as opportunities for advancement within the company, as Someburros is committed to promoting from within. For full-time employees, the company offers medical insurance and 401(k) plans, ensuring that team members have access to important benefits. The culture at Someburros is one of positive energy, support, and fun—a place where working hard is balanced by genuine camaraderie.
This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen setting, enjoy working with fresh, quality ingredients, and want to be part of a team that treats each other and their guests like family. The responsibilities include preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness and organization, adhering to food safety standards, and cooking and plating dishes to an appetizing and visually appealing standard. Some experience is a plus, but Someburros warmly welcomes individuals who bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn, even if they are new to the kitchen scene.
With flexible scheduling options including morning and evening shifts, full-time or part-time positions, and a straightforward application process designed to respect applicants' time, joining Someburros is both accessible and rewarding. If you have the energy, enthusiasm, and love for great food, Someburros invites you to become part of its family and contribute to its legacy of authentic Mexican cuisine and exceptional hospitality.
