Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 or older
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fine dining restaurant
  • Knowledge of product, standard recipes, and food preparation
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to accurately read and communicate duties amongst team members
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
  • Ability to work in a community environment
  • Ability to work calmly, productively, and effectively under pressure
  • Must have problem solving abilities, self-motivated, and organized
  • Commitment to quality service, quality food, and high standards of cleanliness
  • Proper and up to date knowledge to obtain a current Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Presents himself/herself professionally with clean uniform and groomed
  • Maintains knowledge of proper labeling and dating of product
  • Maintains knowledge of proper plating, cleaning, prepping, and cooking of menu items
  • Maintains knowledge of recipes, recipe cards, ingredients, and products
  • Prepares all dishes from grill, saute, garde manger, and special items
  • Required to maintain proper levels of mis en place, and backups to perform daily tasks
  • Required to maintain a clean workstation, perform opening and closing duties, and any other duties designated by the management team or kitchen leader
  • Taste food prepared to verify flavor, consistency, and textures
  • Demonstrate judgement and creativity in food utilization
  • Understand Edison House standards of food quality and recipe taste
  • Collaborates and supports banquet/prep cooks, and stewards
