The company is continuously evolving, leveraging a corporate culture that values forward-thinking, responsibility, and teamwork. Operating across multiple countries, Lidl places a strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility, ensuring that actions are beneficial for the environment, their people, and the wider communities they serve. Lidl’s headquarters drives many of these initiatives, supporting various specialist teams that work collaboratively to uphold the brand’s reputation and achieve its strategic goals.

The Kitchen Operations Assistant position within Lidl’s Quality and Sustainability (QS) team offers a unique and dynamic opportunity to support the test kitchen operations at the heart of the company’s product development and quality assurance efforts. This role is ideal for a proactive, organized individual who has a passion for cooking and an interest in the science and quality testing of consumer food products. Unlike traditional kitchen roles focused solely on cooking or preparation, the Kitchen Operations Assistant will engage in a multifaceted set of activities ranging from sourcing ingredients, ordering products, maintaining kitchen organization, to supporting data collection and analysis related to product tastings. This corporate-support role requires the ability to multitask efficiently, adapt to changing priorities, and uphold rigorous quality standards.

Responsibilities include preparing food samples for tastings by senior leadership and consumer experts, following strict preparation instructions; executing quality control protocols across diverse product categories such as meat, wine, and private label items; and providing administrative assistance that supports project milestones and documentation. Additionally, the role involves detailed food shopping and inventory management, handling incoming deliveries, packing samples for shipping, and updating training materials to ensure department-wide knowledge sharing. The Kitchen Operations Assistant will also perform data entry and management tasks to support accurate documentation and reporting. The position requires physical stamina to handle product cases of up to 50 pounds and involves working onsite at Lidl’s headquarters, including varied shifts and some weekend work.

This full-time role offers a comprehensive employment package that reflects Lidl’s commitment to employee well-being. Salary specifics are commensurate with experience and the seniority of the role. Lidl provides extensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision coverage, paid holidays and time off, a 401k plan with company match, and continuous training opportunities to promote career growth. Employees also benefit from voluntary insurance options and programs designed to support overall well-being. Working at Lidl means being part of a company focused on sustainability and quality, where your contributions directly influence the success of new products and the company’s high standards.
