We are currently seeking a motivated, organized, and skilled Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in supporting the Executive Chef and the kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations. The Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager will be responsible for food purchasing, preparation, maintaining quality standards, upholding sanitation and cleanliness, and training employees in cooking methods, presentation, portion control, cost management, and hygiene. This role requires strong leadership skills, reliability, stability, and a positive attitude, as the ability to lead and inspire a team is critical to success. The ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience in a kitchen environment, an excellent work ethic, and a commitment to upholding the values and operational standards of Monkless Belgian Ales.

Additionally, you will assist the Executive Chef in planning, budgeting, and purchasing to align with the restaurant’s operational goals. This leadership role also includes ongoing staff training on equipment use, kitchen safety, sanitation, and cooking techniques, along with administering company policies consistently and fairly.

Job Requirements

- Previous leadership experience in a high volume kitchen
- Strong work ethic and reliability

Job Duties
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the core values of Monkless Belgian Ales
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, walls, hoods, other equipment and food storage areas
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards
- Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points
- Par management and ordering responsibilities of food and other restaurant supplies
- Control food cost and usage by following proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures
- Instruct cooks or other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, or presentation of food
