The company prides itself on offering top-of-the-industry pay and unbeatable benefits, making it an attractive workplace for culinary professionals who want to advance their careers in a supportive environment. Home Team BBQ's dedication to quality and employee satisfaction has earned it a reputation not only for delicious dishes but also as a top employer in the restaurant industry.
The Kitchen Manager role at Home Team BBQ is a full-time leadership position that reports directly to the Executive Chef and the Culinary Operations team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen’s back-of-house during each shift. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for maintaining food quality, consistency, and operational efficiency, while managing labor costs and promoting a positive work environment. The person in this position will lead the kitchen staff by example, fostering a culture of professionalism, motivation, and clear communication. They will oversee daily kitchen operations including food preparation, execution, quality control, and cleanliness, while ensuring all standards set by Home Team BBQ are consistently met. The role also involves close collaboration with the front-of-house leadership and staff to provide an outstanding guest experience that reflects the brand’s high standards.
Specific duties include managing opening, mid, and closing shifts with responsibilities tailored to each period. Opening Managers lead morning prep and line cooks, create daily specials, and ensure the kitchen is clean and organized before service begins. Mid Managers take charge of lunch service and transitions between morning and evening teams, placing orders and managing workflow effectively. Closing Managers oversee dinner service, manage closing tasks, complete cleaning checklists, and finalize orders for the next day. This role also involves training and developing kitchen staff, supporting menu development, and engaging in labor management, including corrective actions and workflow optimization. The Kitchen Manager must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and POS systems, and have the ability to interpret operating procedures and reports.
Working at Home Team BBQ means being part of a team that values respect, encouragement, community, and gratitude. To support their employees, the company offers generous benefits including company-paid medical insurance premiums, vision, dental, and voluntary life insurance, a generous restaurant comp tab, 401(k) with employer match, and quarterly performance-based bonuses. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items up to 40 lbs, and work in hot conditions with exposure to cleaning chemicals. Candidates with a minimum of five years of kitchen experience, preferably in leadership roles, who are Serve Safe certified and passionate about food quality and guest satisfaction are encouraged to apply. Join Home Team BBQ to build your career in a rewarding kitchen management role with a company that truly values its people.
