The company emphasizes professionalism, quality control, and a dedication to maintaining health and safety standards at all times, ensuring guests receive superior service in a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Working at Flanigan's means being part of a team that values collaboration, attention to detail, and a positive customer experience.
The Kitchen Manager at Flanigan's plays a vital role as the Captain of the Kitchen, responsible for leading the Back of House (BOH) team through the complexities of daily operation. This leadership position demands a hands-on approach combined with strong delegation skills to oversee ordering, receiving, food preparation, service, cleaning, closing, and all other kitchen-related activities. The role requires communicating effectively with management, attending regular meetings, completing employee evaluations, and enforcing adherence to company recipes, cleanliness, and quality control standards. Kitchen Managers are also expected to maintain compliance with Florida State health codes and company policies, including participating in recruitment and interviewing processes when needed.
Flexibility is a key component of this role, as Kitchen Managers may be required to work up to 30 miles from their home restaurant location and must be willing to transfer to different geographical areas. The position involves working a demanding schedule of 50-55 hours per week over a five-day workweek, including weekends and holidays, with two consecutive days off typically between Monday and Thursday. Physical stamina is also essential, as the job requires standing for extended periods, handling up to 50-pound lifts, and performing various physical tasks such as bending and stooping.
Flanigan's values individuals who demonstrate an ownership mentality and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards in all aspects of kitchen operations. Candidates must have current food management certification and be proficient in all kitchen stations, including expo. The company offers a competitive starting salary and numerous benefits to support employee well-being and career growth.
Overall, the Kitchen Manager at Flanigan's is an exciting opportunity for passionate culinary professionals eager to lead a team, drive kitchen excellence, and contribute to a highly regarded restaurant brand with over 365 days of operation per year.
