The Kitchen Manager role at Moxy Charlotte is pivotal in ensuring that guests enjoy an exceptional food and beverage experience. This position is responsible for managing back-of-house food and beverage staff, overseeing daily operations of the hotel’s bar and restaurant, and maintaining high standards of service and quality. The Kitchen Manager will play a key role in managing inventory for food, beverages, supplies, and equipment while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. This role demands a strong leader who can support, train, and supervise team members, schedule work shifts effectively, and cover shifts when necessary to maintain seamless operations during busy periods. In addition, the Kitchen Manager will handle customer service challenges by resolving complaints promptly and working closely with sales staff to coordinate meeting room and catering needs.

This position requires the ability to monitor and improve product quality, service satisfaction, and inventory control processes continuously. It also demands attention to detail in menu and pricing accuracy, as well as the ability to implement specials and promotions that enhance the guest experience. The role requires effective communication skills and the flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The ability to self-supervise, manage time efficiently, and ensure a safe working environment for the team is crucial. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds and push or pull approximately 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food handling certificate required where applicable
  • Food and beverage service experience preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to understand and follow directions and guidelines
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to commercial chemical agents
  • Capability for self-supervision and time management
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Fluency in English

Job Duties

  • Directly responsible for managing back of house F&B staff
  • Oversee daily operations of the hotel bar and/or restaurant
  • Manage all inventory including food, beverages, supplies, and equipment
  • Monitor quality of service and resolve customer complaints promptly
  • Supervise, support, schedule, assign work, and train team members in all F&B activities
  • Provide shift coverage as needed to ensure proper staffing
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards
