With over 100 years of history, Delaware North is a family-owned company that operates globally, offering its employees unique paths to personal and professional growth. The company prides itself on creating an engaging and inclusive workplace culture where team members are supported and empowered to succeed.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Kitchen Manager to join our team at the Met Opera Grand Tier in New York, New York. This full-time role offers an anticipated base salary ranging from $66,300 to $73,700 annually, complemented by an annual bonus plan or an uncapped sales incentive plan based on individual and company performance. The Kitchen Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the back-of-house operations by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organizing kitchen equipment and deliveries efficiently, and collaborating closely with team members and culinary leadership. The position demands a keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to uphold safety and sanitation protocols to ensure the kitchen environment is safe, efficient, and conducive to delivering a high-quality dining experience to guests.
In this challenging yet rewarding position, the Kitchen Manager will oversee the receipt, processing, and proper storage of all kitchen orders and deliveries, ensuring compliance with company protocols. The role includes maintaining inventory levels and organizing all items in a clean and orderly manner. Working hand-in-hand with the Executive Chef, the Kitchen Manager helps to ensure that all necessary products are available to meet daily operational needs. Monitoring kitchen operational costs and ensuring adherence to budget guidelines is another key responsibility, along with ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal health department regulations. The position also requires monitoring and enforcing safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices throughout the back-of-house areas and ensuring kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in managerial roles within full-service, high-volume restaurants, hotels, or catering outlets. Strong financial and computer skills are essential, including familiarity with profit and loss statements, budgeting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems. The company values continual professional development, offering tuition reimbursement and professional certification support. Shift work includes days, holidays, and weekends, and physical demands include the ability to carry up to 50 pounds as well as standing, walking, and bending for extended periods. There is no degree requirement, but ServSafe and Food Handler certifications must be obtained within six months of employment.
At Delaware North’s Patina Group, we believe in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where every team member can thrive. Join us and be part of a reputable company known for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to build a lasting career in an exciting, award-winning restaurant group.
