Delaware North is deeply invested in fostering career growth and providing fulfilling opportunities for its team members. Whether in restaurants, hotels, sports arenas, casinos, or retail, the company offers a diverse and supportive work environment that values inclusivity, respect, and development. Working at Delaware North means becoming part of a legacy that spans the world, with unique opportunities to advance professionally in iconic locations.
Delaware North is currently seeking a Kitchen Manager to join the team at the Metropolitan Opera Grand Tier in New York, New York. This position plays a vital role in supporting back-of-house operations in one of the world’s most prestigious cultural venues. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, managing kitchen equipment and deliveries, coordinating closely with culinary leadership, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met consistently. This role demands a diligent and organized individual who can oversee the daily opening of the employee café, handle bar ordering and inventory, and contribute to a smooth, efficient back-of-house environment.
The salary for this position ranges from $66,300 to $73,700 per year, with an annual bonus plan based on individual and company performance, alongside role-based sales incentives. Delaware North offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, paid parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and generous discounts at many of its hotels and resorts.
The Kitchen Manager will receive and process all kitchen orders and deliveries in line with company protocols, maintain organized inventory systems, work closely with the Executive Chef to meet daily operational needs, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health department regulations. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience managing back-of-house operations in high-volume, full-service environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering outlets. Certifications such as ServSafe and Food Handler must be obtained within six months of employment.
This role requires strong financial acumen, including experience with budgets and P&L statements, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems. Availability to work early mornings, along with the physical ability to perform duties such as standing for long periods and carrying up to 50 pounds, is essential. While a degree is not required, this role demands a commitment to excellence, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
By joining Delaware North and the Patina Group, candidates become part of a recognized and award-winning organization committed to creating exceptional experiences for both guests and employees. This opportunity offers not just a job but a career path in a dynamic and supportive workplace that celebrates diversity, equality, and professional growth.
