The role of Kitchen Manager in Training at Parker's Kitchen offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary leadership and kitchen management. This position is designed for those eager to develop and refine their leadership skills by assisting the current Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations. As a Kitchen Manager in Training, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient operating systems, delivering exceptional customer service, and fostering employee development. Although primarily assigned to a specific location, you will gain valuable hands-on experience by stepping in to cover for Kitchen Managers when needed. This hands-on approach prepares you for a future promotion to Kitchen Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting operational tasks such as managing inventory, conducting weekly inventory counts, and generating cost of sales reports. You will help manage labor costs by scheduling employees according to approved budgets, and assist in enforcing food safety and sanitation standards that comply with the company's Safety and Health Policy. Your leadership will contribute to a positive and respectful work environment, ensuring that both customers and employees enjoy a friendly atmosphere. Communication of procedures, promotions, and new products to team members will also be a critical part of your duties.
The position demands a proactive attitude towards multitasking and the ability to work varied hours, shifts, and days as business needs arise. Parker's Kitchen expects completion of Food Safety Certification within the first month and a skills-based certification within 120 days of employment. The role also requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and the capacity to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements
- minimum of 2 years of management experience in food service operations or demonstrated experience in food service operations with Parker's
- must be at least 16 years of age upon hire date
- must have reliable transportation
- completion of Food Safety Certification within the first month of employment is required
- completion of a skills-based certification within the first 120 days of employment is mandatory
- kitchen managers in training must be able to work varied hours, days, and shifts as needed by the employer due to business circumstances
- ability to stand for extended periods, ranging from 8 to 10 hours
- ability to multitask, perform repeated bending, standing, reaching, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to push or pull up to 50 pounds
- comfortable working in environments with wet floors, temperature fluctuations, and loud noise levels
Job Qualifications
- minimum of 2 years of management experience in food service operations or demonstrated experience in food service operations with Parker's

Job Duties

- manage and audit inventory levels to ensure they align with the budget

- assist the Kitchen Manager in enforcing the Safety and Health Policy to maintain a safe and compliant environment
- stock food and beverage areas with products and supplies to ensure in stock conditions at all times
