Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum 2-3 years experience in kitchen leadership
  • ServeSafe certification
  • strong food safety knowledge
  • excellent culinary and knife skills
  • computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and POS
  • ability to work on feet up to 10 hours
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts
  • ability to travel within region
  • excellent communication skills
  • hands-on management style

Job Qualifications

  • high school or GED equivalent
  • formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred
  • minimum 2-3 years leadership experience in full-service restaurant kitchen
  • ServeSafe certified
  • strong knowledge of food safety systems and procedures
  • excellent food preparation and knife skills
  • proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • basic Spanish preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • manage all activities in the kitchen
  • be a teacher and mentor to back-of-house employees
  • collaborate with Culinary Operations Manager to develop new recipes, dishes, and procedures
  • train kitchen personnel in cleanliness and sanitation best practices
  • control food costs to budgeted levels
  • conduct daily shift line checks ensuring food standards
  • supervise and inspect prep procedures adhering to company recipes
  • maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • ensure high quality food service and presentation
  • place food orders and conduct food inventories
  • monitor refrigeration and storage to prevent spoilage
  • cultivate future culinary leaders within kitchen staff
  • open the restaurant 2-3 days per week as manager on duty
  • effectively communicate with managers and staff
  • accept and utilize feedback to improve performance
