We are currently seeking an Executive Sous Chef for our Factor_ brand, a prestigious arm of HelloFresh focused on delivering premium meals designed to elevate customer performance through exceptional taste and nutrition. This role demands a culinary production expert with strong leadership skills to oversee kitchen operations that produce high volumes of meals while maintaining quality, presentation, and food safety standards throughout the production and delivery process. The Executive Sous Chef will be responsible for managing a diverse team, implementing new recipes, and continuously enhancing production processes with precision and creativity.

This leadership position offers an exciting opportunity to influence large-scale culinary production by ensuring every meal meets rigorous standards in taste, appearance, and nutritional value. The Executive Sous Chef will apply expertise in food safety regulations such as HACCP, FSMA, SQF, and USDA guidelines, while also working closely with corporate executive chefs and R&D teams to innovate and refine recipes and processes. Additionally, this role requires hands-on involvement in various production stages—from pre-operation setup to cooking, assembly, and cooling—demonstrating flexibility and dedication to maintaining excellence in every aspect of the kitchen's function.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or a related field, alongside over five years of experience managing large-scale kitchen operations including commissaries, banquet services, or catering. Familiarity with specialized diets such as Paleo, Ketogenic, Low/Slow Carb, and Mind Diets is essential.

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in Culinary Arts or a related field
  • minimum 5 years’ experience managing large-scale kitchen operations
  • familiarity with USDA and FDA food safety guidelines
  • strong knowledge of specialized diets including Paleo, Ketogenic, low/slow carb, and Mind Diet
  • excellent leadership and team management skills
  • effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
  • hands-on experience with HACCP, FSMA, SQF, and USDA regulations
  • detail-oriented with a creative eye
  • ability to implement process improvements and training

Job Qualifications

  • BS degree in Culinary Arts or similar qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience running a commissary or large restaurant/banquet/catering
  • familiarity with USDA/FDA guidelines
  • strong understanding of the Paleo Diet, Ketogenic Diet, low/slow carb and Mind Diet
  • skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing, and executing projects and activities
  • lean six sigma experience a plus
  • passionate about helping people achieve their goals and improve themselves

Job Duties

  • Oversee product quality and food safety in a mass production kitchen
  • ensure the execution of new recipes, training and oversight of kitchen staff to implement new recipes as well as improve existing recipes
  • develop and implement process controls in a kitchen environment
  • validate consistent, premium taste, appearance and performance of every meal leaving our high-volume kitchen
  • train and lead other members of the team throughout the various parts of production including pre-op, cooking, assembly, cooling, etc.
  • implement and adhere to gold standards of food quality and food safety
  • leverage hands on knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, SQF, and USDA regulations
