Job Description
DashMart is a local-fulfillment center owned and operated by DoorDash, a leading technology and logistics company revolutionizing the way people receive goods and services. DoorDash started as a food delivery platform but has rapidly expanded to include a diverse range of products and services to empower local economies. DashMart plays a crucial role in this ecosystem by offering customers household essentials and other items delivered to their doorsteps with speed, reliability, and quality. The fulfillment centers operate in spaces ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 square feet and are designed to provide efficient, high-quality service in local communities.
The role at DashMart is a leadership position within these dynamic local warehouses, where you will be responsible for assisting in managing daily operations, leading a team, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position may also involve preparing food in light-prep kitchens, depending on the location. As a key member of the site management team, you will work closely with the Site Manager to maintain high operational standards and quality control for every order fulfilled.
In this leadership role, you will demonstrate compassion and a strong commitment to inclusivity as you lead a team of hourly Operations Associates and Shift Leads. Your responsibilities include hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing team members while fostering a safety-first culture where employees feel engaged and motivated. You will act as a change agent, helping your team navigate new initiatives and growth projects, and handling onsite escalations by coordinating with cross-functional partners.
Operationally, you will oversee outcomes for your team, taking charge of driving performance in specific focus areas or shifts. This includes effective scheduling, inventory management processes, and deploying best practices inherited from the broader DoorDash network. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners as needed to support operational goals.
Strategic thinking is a vital part of this job. Within your assigned focus areas, you will analyze data and make recommendations to optimize resource allocation, workflow, and warehouse organization. Additionally, you may lead process improvement projects that help the site operate more efficiently and effectively.
Delivering excellent customer service is central to your work. You will coach and empower your team to provide a high-quality experience with every order, emphasizing metrics like order accuracy and fulfillment speed. Partnering with central teams focused on inventory and training ensures your team has the tools and resources necessary to succeed.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with experience managing high-performance teams of five or more employees and a track record of successful performance and employee development outcomes. Ownership and accountability are critical traits, as you will be responsible for the success of your site, usually involving a flexible schedule that includes late-night and weekend hours. You are a problem solver who embraces innovative approaches and resists traditional thinking, thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments typically found in startups. An analytical mindset is crucial, as you will rely on data-driven decision-making using tools such as Excel or Google Sheets to interpret data and generate insights.
This role requires at least three years of experience in operations, warehouse logistics, customer service, retail management, fulfillment, or a related field, along with at least one year of team leadership experience. Your ability to adapt and maintain composure in a rapidly changing, growth-oriented business environment is essential.
DoorDash offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an innovative company committed to diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being. The company provides competitive benefits, including premium healthcare, wellness reimbursement, paid parental leave, and more, reflecting their commitment to supporting a happy and healthy workforce. Joining DashMart means becoming part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to reshaping how local communities receive goods and services with exceptional speed and quality.
