Founded with the mission to empower local economies, DoorDash has grown rapidly and continues to innovate across various verticals to make a meaningful impact on consumers, merchants, and delivery partners alike. The company is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment that fosters growth, innovation, and well-being for all its employees. DoorDash provides a comprehensive benefits package, including premium healthcare, wellness reimbursements, paid parental leave, and flexible paid time off policies to ensure employees maintain a healthy work-life balance. Their commitment to diversity and inclusion is deeply embedded in their culture, ensuring equal opportunities and non-discrimination across race, gender, age, and other protected categories.
The role of Kitchen Manager for DashMart Kitchens (DMK) at DoorDash is an exciting leadership opportunity within DashMart, DoorDash's next billion-dollar business focused on food delivery. DashMart Kitchens is uniquely positioned as an in-house, delivery-only kitchen platform that offers an extensive range of prepared foods and popular restaurant staples to customers' doorsteps. This role places you at the core of daily kitchen operations inside a DashMart fulfillment center, where you will manage and guide a team of operations associates and shift leads. The primary objective is to ensure the preparation of meals that meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency.
As a Kitchen Manager, you will lead by combining hands-on culinary expertise with operational excellence. You will be responsible for staffing, scheduling, and performance management within the kitchen while maintaining strict adherence to food safety protocols, inventory controls, and safety standards associated with handling food and kitchen equipment. This role also involves cross-training to engage in broader DashMart operations, making you integral to both kitchen and fulfillment center success.
You will have the opportunity to lead multiple food concepts and implement strategies to improve kitchen processes. Beyond managing day-to-day tasks, you will analyze performance data, identify operational gaps such as preparation delays or quality issues, and develop innovative solutions that drive efficiency and excellence. Moreover, you will foster an inclusive and supportive workplace culture where employees feel motivated, safe, and valued.
This position requires a leader who thrives in fast-paced, startup-style environments. You will play a critical role in creating food consistently and delighting customers by ensuring recipe accuracy, maintaining product availability, and supporting the overall customer experience. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to bring new initiatives to life and continually optimize kitchen operations. With a base salary range of $56,200 to $82,700 USD, the role offers competitive compensation reflective of your experience and location.
Working as a Kitchen Manager at DashMart Kitchens is more than managing a kitchen — it is about shaping the future of food delivery by driving innovative food preparation methods, leading a passionate team, and contributing to the growth of a dynamic and expanding business within DoorDash. This role is perfect for leaders who are passionate about food, operational excellence, team development, and eager to make a tangible impact in a fast-moving environment.
