The Restaurant Assistant Manager plays a vital role at Top Dawg Tavern, serving as a salaried management position tasked with overseeing the front of house operations and ensuring the highest standards of hospitality and service are maintained. This position requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage a diverse team including servers, hosts, bartenders, and other staff members. The Assistant Manager will focus heavily on maintaining Top Dawg Tavern's service standards, ensuring that every guest experiences the warmth and efficiency the brand is known for. Experience with the Aloha point of sale system is highly valued, and candidates with ServSafe Certification will find that this enhances their ability to perform in this role.

Ideal candidates come with prior management experience in similar roles—whether that be as a restaurant general manager, supervisor, shift lead, kitchen manager, or other restaurant leadership roles. Experience in well-known brands such as Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, Yard House, Tap 42, Lazy Dog, Cheesecake Factory, TGI Fridays, Longhorn, True Food Kitchen, Maggiano's, or Chick-fil-A is especially desirable, reflecting a strong background in restaurant operations and team leadership.

The Assistant Manager is responsible not only for day-to-day operational success but also for supporting all departments within the restaurant, fostering a positive and productive work environment that enables staff to deliver top-tier service. Leadership and clear communication are essential, as is the ability to recruit and retain quality team members. The goal of this role is to support the overall success of the restaurant by maintaining smooth operations, exceptional customer service, and a motivated team. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Experience with inventory and staff management
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and customers
  • Commitment to upholding service quality and hospitality standards

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a restaurant general manager, supervisor, shift lead, kitchen manager, or other restaurant management roles
  • Experience with Aloha point of sale system preferred
  • ServSafe certification is a plus
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Ability to maintain operational standards and oversee multiple departments
  • Familiarity with casual dining restaurant environment

Job Duties
