Job Description

Cooper's Hawk is a unique lifestyle brand that combines a Napa-style tasting room with wine-inspired retail and a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event space. Established in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has built a reputation for offering a modern-yet-casual dining experience where every dish on the scratch-kitchen menu is thoughtfully crafted to pair perfectly with their award-winning wines. The brand extends beyond just dining through the Cooper's Hawk Wine Club, which is considered one of the largest wine clubs globally, providing members with exclusive curated dining and travel experiences. In addition to their hallmark offerings, Cooper's Hawk has introduced Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk to bring vibrant Roman flavors to their guests, further expanding their culinary reach and enhancing the lifestyle experience they provide. Cooper's Hawk is committed to delivering an elevated and memorable hospitality experience to every guest, blending passion for food and wine with exceptional service and thoughtful innovation.

The role of Kitchen Manager at Cooper's Hawk is a pivotal leadership position within a fast-paced, high-volume scratch kitchen environment. This role involves driving the culinary execution of the uniquely inspired menu while ensuring that every dish complements Cooper's Hawk's wine offerings. The Kitchen Manager partners closely with the Executive Kitchen Manager to uphold uncompromising hospitality standards and to coach, inspire, and develop the kitchen team members to maintain high food quality and an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities of the Kitchen Manager include overseeing one to two kitchen departments, such as dish, prep, or line stations, maintaining professional culinary and safety standards specific to Cooper's Hawk, and utilizing various tools including POS systems, scheduling software, ordering and inventory systems, as well as Microsoft Office to stay organized and efficient. The Kitchen Manager plays a critical role in executing new menu roll-outs, kitchen initiatives, and private events, such as the monthly Wine Club dinners, which are signature experiences for Cooper's Hawk guests.

The Kitchen Manager's duties extend into recruiting, training, and developing hourly kitchen team members, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation policies, and managing prep and line knowledge to achieve financial and operational targets. Inventory and labor management are also key components of the role, requiring collaboration with senior leadership and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive work environment.

To succeed, the Kitchen Manager must bring strong supervision skills, excellent communication, and the ability to handle demanding work schedules, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items. With a strong emphasis on creating an inclusive and respectful kitchen culture, this role also involves recognizing team achievements and fostering a positive environment where quality and excellence are celebrated. Cooper's Hawk offers a competitive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and special discounts on dining and retail products. The Kitchen Manager position provides a meaningful opportunity to grow within a dynamic company that values passion, teamwork, and innovation in the culinary arts.
