In alignment with its reputation for excellence and employee satisfaction, Smokey Bones is currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals for leadership roles within their kitchen management team. This role plays a critical part in shaping the guest experience by coaching team members on delivering exceptional service, anticipating and resolving guest issues, and maintaining the highest standards of restaurant quality and operations. The kitchen manager will work closely with the General Manager and Directors to uphold facility standards, oversee repairs and maintenance, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and operational excellence.

The position is designed for results-driven leaders who are passionate about the hospitality industry. Candidates will have previous kitchen management experience in a full-service restaurant with a full bar, along with strong computer skills including Excel, Windows, and POS systems. Flexibility, trustworthiness, and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role. The kitchen manager is also tasked with staff scheduling, mentoring, and performance management, striving to build leadership capabilities within the team and motivating everyone to achieve sales growth, guest satisfaction, and operational goals.

Beyond operational leadership, this role involves critical financial responsibilities such as understanding Profit and Loss statements, forecasting, and scheduling budgets to ensure the restaurant meets its sales and inventory targets. Additionally, the kitchen manager will handle various administrative duties in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Coach teammates on how to deliver an excellent guest experience
  • coach teammates on how to anticipate, identify, and resolve issues that impact the guest experience
  • coach teammates on how actions impact the guest experience and how results indicate the level of guest service provided
  • positively interact and visit with guests and solicit feedback
  • handle and follow up on guest concerns escalated from the teammate level, escalate to GM and DO as necessary
  • ensure the quality of all restaurant facilities throughout the region by aligning with the General Manager and Director on priority needs, communicating with vendors, and supporting others in overseeing the repair or maintenance of the building, landscape, parking lot, equipment, seating, and technology
  • model standards and expected behaviors for restaurant managers and teammates
  • model and teach company values and culture
  • model and train all new menu items and changes in standards for departmental team members
  • write schedules for department staff
